CONCERT POSTERS AS A SOURSE OF RESEARCH FOR PIANO PERFORMANCE IN CHINA IN THE BEGINNING OF THE 1980-TH

The article explores the concert of Chinese pianists of the first decade after the end of the Cultural Revolution. The Specifics of the concert posters as documentary sources and the importance of their involvement in music studies are characterized. The analysis of the concert posters of the given period made it possible to compile aggregate information about the dynamics of the evolution of the pianists’ performing, the chronology, geography and density of their performances, and allowed to reveal certain additional information not covered in other printed sources. In the context of creative destinies, the texts of posters of the most prominent concerts of Liu Shikun, Yin Cheng Zong, Li Ming Qiang, Zhou Long, Chen Yi in Europe and the USA are analyzed. The methodology of the study is based on a complex combination of methods: historical – when studing the historical processes of the Cultural Revolution, which influenced the creative destinies and outlook of Chinese pianists; retrospective – when analyzing sources; source studies – when working out materials for archival posters and scientific sources to reproduce panoramas of concert activities of Chinese pianists in the West in the early 1980 years. The historical approach, combined with the axiological method has revealed the artistic priorities of Chinese pianists who directly touch their repertoire. Recognition on the European and American continents of high professional qualities of their performing skills is determined. It has been proved that their performing arts contributed to the convergence of Eastern and Western musical cultures, proving the importance of the role of modern Chinese musicians in enhancing the processes of globalization of world culture. The scientific novelty is that the author first discovered and systematized concert pianos of Chinese pianists of the period, analyzed the repertoire and proved the recognition of the highest level of their professional skills in the world.
