METHODICAL PRINCIPLES OF SINGERS EDUCATION BY VOLODYMYR SHUSHLIN

Abstract

In the article it is researching principles of the active-passive breathing methodics by vocalization of belorussian singer and pedagogue Vovlodymyr Shushylin; was analized main provisions of that methodic; generalized the main principles of pedagogue work with his students. Over 30 years (from 1924 till 1956) in Chinese musical education institutes Volodymyr Shushylin, a famous belorussian opera and camera singer (bass) was teaching (1896, Grodno – 1978, Moscow). His merits of Chinese vocal school creation, which produced several generations of most popular masters of the opera scene of the country, is hardly estimated. He has acquainted China with serious vocal and founded Chinese academic vocal school. Shushylin was one of the first singers from multinational Russia, who came for touring to Harbin’s opera house (northern town of China). He left there for 30 years and was teaching in Shanghai conservatory of the soul singing. During the years of his pedagogical activity he trained a big collective of opera and camera stars for Chinese and world opera scene. Among them are – “Chinese nightingale”, professor of Shanghai conservatory – Zhou Xiaoyan; Xie Yigui, who enters today the first tens of bass singers in the world; Shen Sjang – laureate of multiple international contests, professor of Pekin’s central conservatory; Wen Kezheng – famous singer, professor of Shanghai conservatory and many others. The target of the article is to meet Ukrainian audience with main principles of Volodymyr Shushylin’s methodic of active and passive breathing creation while vocalization process. Studying of active-passive vocal breathing Shushylin devided for 5 stages. The main point is singers creation of the “treatment” to these methods: treatment to the active and passive breathing while vocalization; treatment to the sound source while active and passive breathing; treatment to the active and passive resonance in vocalization; treatment to the active and passive breathing while singing by “closed method”; treatment to the active and passive breathing while pronunciation while breathing in vocalization. During the education in Shanghai conservatory Shen Sjang systematically noted of Shushylin’s statements about singing skills development methods, about voice setting system, role of ralynx in sound creation, about role of some examples of voice supports and importance of right breathing while vocalization. A result of this knowledge usage in his own long-term practical experience became an edition by Shen Sjang of “Methodics of active-passive breathing”, which is one of the most important manual in Chinese vocal pedagogy.
