Abstract

A need for the personalistic research of the notion of a school in musicology, which is actively studied by Ukrainian musicologists in different aspects, is considered. Personalistic approach towards highlighting the problem of a musicological school will allow understanding the extent to which personal research interests of a head of the school, his authority, individual life and value orientation, and even certain psychological type, have the influence on the research activity of his disciples, and therefore, on the trends of development of the Ukrainian musicological thought. The circumstances of creating the scientific school of Yu. Yasinovskyi, who was a famous Ukrainian musicologist, medieval historian and specialist in Ukrainian and European history of music and culture of the Medieval Ages and Early Modern Period, conditioned by formation of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Musical Medieval and Ukrainian History Studies headed by the professor, are highlighted; the main methodological bases of Yu. Yasinovskyi’s musicological school are substantiated; research areas, within which his disciples work and create their main research papers, are ascertained. The heredity of historically conditioned musicological traditions and openness to the new research challenges as an important sign of Yu. Yasinovskyi’s musicological school is affirmed.
