NESTOR NIZHANKIVSKY AS A PIANIST: an attempt at a psychological portrait

Abstract

The article considers piano performance – one of the versatile activities sphere of the prominent Ukrainian composer Nestor Nyzhankivskyi. He performed mainly as a co-performer in ensembles, but always proved to be an outstanding and profound interpreter. Attention concentrates on revealing the main principles of performance psychology and aesthetics of Nyzhankivskyi as a pianist. The appendix contains a list of famous performances of this musician.
