NEW DOCUMENTARY INFORMATION ABOUT THE FAMILIES OF UKRAINIAN COMPOSERS OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY

Abstract

The article provides information on two vital documents about the parents’ families of Ukrainian composers of the second half of the eighteenth century D. Bortniansky and S. Dehtyarev. The documents indicate the place of residence of the family, the composition, age and names of each person (parents, brothers, sisters, nephews, etc.). The first document confirms the information we know about D. Bortniansky’s family, while the second document refers to unknown facts of the life of S. Degtyarev’s family, which partially refute some details of the composer’s biography. The document describing D. Bortnianskiy’s family provides indirect information about M. Berezovsky’s family.
